The Copperbelt Health Education Programme (CHEP) is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) which was founded in 1988 as a health education project under the administration of the Rotary Club of Kitwe. Overtime it became registered as an independent organisation dedicated to implement HIV and AIDS prevention and impact mitigation activities on the Copperbelt communities. It is now registered with the Registrar of Companies as a Non-Governmental Organisation with a Company Limited by Guarantee status.

Our Mission

To enhance capacities and competencies of local Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and other structures through technical support, research and appropriate knowledge management.

 

 

Our Programmes

Current Programmes

LHL

CHEP partnered with the  Norwegian Heart and Lung (LHL) TB patient  organization in 2004 to implement  a Tuberculosis (TB) program aimed at strengthening community responses. Norwegian Heart and Lung patient organization was founded in Norway in 1943 by former TB patients.

Training & Research Centre

The Training & Research Centre is able to provide facilitator’s tailor-made training at your own location. CHEP´s Training & Research Centre also conducts research in divers topics within the area of HIV and AIDS prevention care, support and community development.
